Tsinghua Vulcan team took a group photo after winning the championship. According to Xinhua News Agency, the 2025 Robot World Cup was successfully held in Brazil recently. The reporter learned from Tsinghua University on the 21st that the Tsinghua Vulcan team, guided by Zhao Mingguo, a researcher in the automation department of the school, won the championship of the humanoid group. This is the first time that the Chinese robot football team has won the World Cup championship in this category. The first Robot World Cup competition began in 1997. It is currently one of the highest-level, largest and most influential robot events in the world. The humanoid group events include adult group and small group events, and it has received the most attention in all competition events. This year's competition attracted more than 20 teams from more than 10 countries including China, the United States, and Germany to participate. Since the start of the World Cup group stage, the Chinese team has performed well. Among them, the domestic accelerated evolution T1 robot used by Tsinghua Vulcan Team defeated a number of opponents with a big score of 16:0, 9:0, and 12:0, and successfully reached the adult group robot final. The finals were held between Tsinghua Vulcan team and China Agricultural University Shanhai team, and the Vulcan team defeated Shanhai team 5:2 to win the championship. The Chinese team won the championship and runner-up in this adult group competition, achieving a historic breakthrough. "This is a victory for the Chinese team and a victory for Chinese robots." A relevant person in charge of Beijing Acceleration Evolution Technology Co., Ltd. introduced that the participating robots not only need light and flexible, solid and resistant to falling, but also have complex real-time perception and brain decision-making, advanced motion control and multi-agent collaboration tactics, which is a comprehensive competition of robot full-stack technology. Domestic robots shine in this international competition, once again proving China's strength in robot research and development and application.
