Dissatisfied! Each team: Real Madrid wrote to the Western Government and FIFA, demanding that Barcelona be blocked from overseas matches

October 8th, according to the "Daily Sports" report, UEFA made an exception and agreed to an overseas La Liga match between Barcelona and Villarreal in Miami in December. This move caused huge controversy in Spain, and Real Madrid expressed opposition.

Real Madrid has taken substantive action and sent letters to the Spanish government, UEFA and FIFA at the same time, requesting official intervention and stopping the game. Real Madrid believes that Barcelona's overseas match against Villarreal is allowed, which is an obvious act of preferential treatment.

In addition to Real Madrid, the Spanish Players Union also expressed strong opposition. They expressed concerns about the health of the players and believed that frequent long-distance travel (such as going to Miami at the end of the year and going to Saudi Arabia for the Super Cup in January of the following year) will push the players' bodies to the limit.

At present, the Spanish government’s attitude towards this matter is unclear. Despite requesting information from the federation, the Spanish government is unsure whether it has the legal power to stop a domestic league game being played overseas.

Interestingly, Villarreal, the theoretical "victim" in this controversy, has shown a cooperative attitude and announced that it will provide convenience for fans of the team who go to Miami to watch the game.

Despite the huge pressure from Madrid, as of now, there seems to be no substantial obstacle that can prevent this game from going ahead as planned.
