Juventus new player Mario: I am an offensive full-back, I m happy to meet Concesan again

Hupu, August 5th, during Juventus' training camp in Germany, new player Joao Mario, who transferred from Porto, shared his initial impression of being a new Juventus player.

The Portuguese fullback was passionate about the new stage that began at Juventus: "I am very happy, it's natural. It's been a pride to be able to join a club that is so great and has such a long history. The first few days were very positive: my teammates and coaching team welcomed me very warmly."

João Mario also emphasized the important role played by fellow countrymen Francesco Concesan and Thiago Gialo in helping him integrate into the team. "They helped me a lot and let me understand how the club works, but I'm also trying to learn from other teammates, I'm doing everything to fit in and adapt as soon as possible, and everything is going well at the moment."

Regarding the game system, the former Porto player expressed his adaptation to the coach's philosophy. "When we were in Porto, we played the system of three central defenders and two wingbacks, so I was very adaptable. I am an offensive full-back and the coach has told me that he wants to play offensive football and will adopt a very active offensive system. I am adapting to his philosophy and working hard to connect with his teammates. I am growing every day and hoping to continue to improve."

Regarding his tacit understanding with Concesan, Joao Mario made it clear: "We played together in Porto and had a very good cooperation on the right. It makes things easier for me to be here to meet him again. He has strong explosive power, one-on-one ability and can change the game at any time. I am very happy to play here with him and all other teammates who are also very strong. I hope to contribute my strength to help the team achieve their goals."
