Sobosloy: It s more important for me to get married than to win the championship. Slot has a good relationship with everyone

May 14th before the match against Arsenal, Sobosloy accepted an official interview with Liverpool and talked about his feelings about winning the championship and the team's situation this season.

Premier League champion. How does it sound?

Sobo: Very good, very good! It feels great because we’ve been working on it all season. From players, staff, fans to the entire city, everyone is involved in different ways. It is a big moment for everyone when we beat Tottenham and celebrate together.

The key is to stay calm, focus on every game, and even not think about Arsenal's performance. You must focus on yourself, because your destiny is in your own hands. You should know that this is a blessing (5-1 Tottenham), so you don't have to expect other teams to lose or draw. We will try our best in every game and continue to maintain it because we want to finish the game perfectly and must maintain 90 minutes of focus.

2025 is an important year for you, which moment is the most dazzling? Lift the Premier League trophy or get married?

Sobo: I think the most important thing in life is family and personal life, so the first choice is of course marriage, followed by the Premier League champion.

It can be said that this is the happiest time in my career so far, both on and off the court. I met the right person, not only in football, but also in life. We always aim to win the Premier League, and it feels great to realize our dreams nowadays and I think we are on the right path.

How is this season for you?

Sobo: Incredible season. There were ups and downs, but they qualified for the top spot in the Champions League group but were eliminated by Paris; they reached the League Cup final and lost to Newcastle. This season is full of twists and turns and intense, but Premier League championships have always been our ultimate goal, and it is very special to achieve this achievement in the end.

Is Liverpool's style of play particularly suitable for you?

Sobo: That's true, but I feel that I can contribute more. Now I'm more in the penalty area and get more shots or assists. The running volume may be slightly larger, but not too much. You have to work hard to get to your best every day, which is both my goal at the beginning of the season and my pursuit of the last three games.

How important do you think midfield balance is to Liverpool's success?

Sobo: It's so wonderful to play with these teammates, and everyone understands the game in the same way. Heraffenberg has not made many appearances last year, and now he is second only to Van Dijk. His abilities were seen in training last year, but he needed time to adapt to the Premier League rhythm. McAllister performed well last year, and so is this year. I am very happy to be able to fight alongside them.

Is this tacit understanding inherent or is it a season-long exercise?

Sobo: You need to take the initiative to find the best position for everyone. For example, Herafenberg was in the front position last year and now plays as a midfielder; McAllister changed from a midfielder to a frontcourt; I changed from a No. 8 position to a No. 10 position. But the midfield trio, sometimes including Jones, is free to switch positions, and we are in tune with each other.

Let's talk about coach Slott, what changes has he brought to Liverpool?

Sobo: He brought a brand new football system and concepts and instilled these ideas into the players as soon as possible, which now seems to be effective. He and the team have achieved incredible so far, but I personally think we could have performed better.

How does he get along with the players?

Sobo: He has a good relationship with everyone. Of course, it is difficult to be a head coach. You have to choose 11 starting players and 5 substitutes, and the team has 20-25 players in the team. But as a team we handled it very well. He is very honest and will point out your strengths and weaknesses directly.

How did he keep the team focused in the final stage of the championship?

Sobo: Actually, he doesn't need to do anything special, we are all professional players. Everyone knows what the goal is. The coach will of course give extra instructions, but professional players should be consciously preparing for each game.

You have a good relationship with Salah. How did he perform this season?

Sobo: It's incredible! He sets records almost every week. Just like Ronaldo said, "It's not him chasing the record, but the record follows him." Now Salah can also say that. Many people on the team play a key role, and he is of course one of them.

Speaking of Liverpool legend, there is a famous tattoo on your arm, and that's what you tattooed before joining Liverpool. Why?

So Bo: This sentence is my portrayal. "God gives you talent, but if you don't work hard, sacrifice, and do your best, talent is meaningless." Gerald may also think so, but I think this is my life creed. To achieve your goal, you must strive for it every minute and every second. If you are content with the status quo, you will stop moving forward. If you want to make continuous breakthroughs year after year, you have to make extra effort.
