Sun: Tottenham player Solomon returns to China to get married, but stays at home due to conflicts between Israel and Iran
June 17 According to the Sun, Tottenham player Solomon flew back to his motherland to get married a few days ago and was trapped in Israel during the conflict between Israel and Iran. Solomon tied the knot with his partner Dana Vohina last Thursday, six days ago he just started in the away World Cup qualifiers against Estonia and helped the team win. The couple celebrated their wedding day by sharing a series of photos and videos. The Israeli couple has been together since 2018, and they made a pledge with smiles before holding a wonderful party with friends and family. However, according to British media reports, the newlyweds are still trapped in Israel. As the conflict entered its fourth day (Israel began bombing Iran last Friday), outbound flights in dangerous areas have been blocked, and the military closed airspace until June 30. Air strike by Israel killed the head of the intelligence department of the Iranian armed forces on Sunday. Iran said the attacks have killed 224 people since last Friday, while Israel has 24 people killed. The British Foreign Office has included Israel on the "red list" and advised not to make any travel. Three years ago, Solomon and political science student Vohina were evacuated from Ukraine. The winger was playing for the Donetsk miners at the time, and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict followed. Solomon joined Tottenham in 2023, after he performed well during his loan at Fulham; but he only played for Tottenham and was loaned to Leeds United last season, scoring 10 goals in 39 games in the Champions League, helping the team successfully upgrade. Solomon is not the only football player involved in the Israeli-Iran conflict. Inter Milan striker Taremi was trapped in Tehran after returning to Iran to perform national team missions. He was supposed to arrive in Los Angeles to meet with his teammates in the Club World Cup. However, Israel's missile attacks on Iranian military and nuclear targets have caused the country's airspace to be shut down.
