TA: The workload of Liverpool’s players’ care department this summer is not small, and it still needs to clear its psychology

This summer is challenging for Liverpool's Player Care Division, which focuses on the well-being of players and their immediate family members.

One of their main tasks is to help players feel at home, relieve the pressure of off-field life, and integrate new players into the club's culture.

This includes sorting out key events in the club's history, especially the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989, and informing players about the impact of the tragedy on the club and the city. For many years, they attended memorial services held in Anfield every year.

But not every player needs a complete briefing, which is usually slowly helped to integrate over a period of time by long-term staff.

The three-person player care department is run by Jane Griffith, and her office is located at the club's Kirkby Training Base. The

Caring Team is primarily committed to providing the best possible working environment for players and their immediate family members. They help new players find the right place to live and will advance their initial bills. They help families living with players with rental agreements, insurance and private health care and make sure they find a new home as quickly and easily as possible.

The care team works closely with player representatives and take the time to understand each player and their specific needs.

"Liverpool's player care service is unparalleled," said an agent representing a senior Liverpool player, who requested anonymity to protect his position. "They do everything for the players and keep us informed when we need it. Everything went very well."
