08-29th August Polish national team announced the new list of players. After Lewandowski, the 37-year-old Lewandowski was stripped of his captain's armband last month and announced his withdrawal from the national team, he returned to the Polish national team and served as the team captain again. The Polish head coach explained the decision.

The new head coach of the Polish national team, Jan Urban, said: "I hope we can start gathering with a new look. The captain of the national team will be Lewandowski, who will attend the press conference with me on Monday. The deputy captain is Zelinski and the third captain is Bednarek.

The players have learned about this decision, and I talked to them, hoping that they can understand my decision as soon as possible. This decision is final, and I think the issue of the captain's armband has ended and we will not discuss it again."

In July this year, the Polish Football Association issued an official statement that the national team coach Probildz decided to revoke the position of Lewandz as captain. Then Lewandz spoke out that he would withdraw from the national team during his coaching in Probildz. Only three days later, Probildz announced that he had resigned from his position as head coach for the sake of the national team.
