Adidas releases 22-team World Cup home jersey: design combines heritage and innovation

Hupu November 05 News Adidas today officially released the 2026 World Cup home jerseys for 22 partner national teams, including Algeria, Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Peru, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela and Wales.

This series of jerseys is inspired by the history, landforms and cultures of various countries, reinterpreting traditional visual symbols in a modernist style, aiming to showcase the unique identities and football spirits of each country in the largest World Cup in history.

The color matching and pattern of each jersey deeply reflect the cultural characteristics of each country: from the long historical heritage, iconic landmarks to classic jersey elements - Adidas hopes that through these designs, every fan can feel the common love for the motherland. In the details, the jersey also hides tributes to previous classic jersey designs, historical victories and important dates, allowing people to discover new surprises every time they look closely.

This series uses Adidas' latest technology, using three-dimensional engineered stretch fabric and breathable mesh structure to keep players fresh and comfortable in the diverse climates of Canada, Mexico and the United States. The new jersey also uses a new 3D changing three-dimensional badge technology, so that the team emblem and Adidas logo present dynamically changing visual effects at different angles, combining a sense of technology and modern aesthetics.

Adidas Football General Manager said: "The national team jersey symbolizes unity and pride. When the players step onto the world stage, they not only represent the current generation of fans, but also continue the glory of their predecessors. Our design not only pays tribute to the roots of each country, but also celebrates a new era that belongs to all fans."

Adidas Vice President of Football Design added: "The 2026 World Cup series is our A tribute to each country's unique identity. Each jersey tells a story - blending cultural heritage and modern design - and uses the latest technology to provide players with the best performance experience."

Selected design highlights:

Argentina: traditional sky blue and white vertical stripes with a three-color gradient effect, inspired by the three World Cup winning jerseys (1978, 1986, 2022). "1896, the year AFA was founded" is printed on the back of the collar.

Germany: Inspired by previous classic jerseys, it adopts diamond and V-shaped stripe designs to pay tribute to the 2014 championship jersey.

Italy: "Azzurra" is printed in gold font on the traditional blue jersey, symbolizing the proud heritage of the "Azzurra".

Japan: The abstract light blue line pattern echoes the "blue mist" image of Japan's sky and ocean blending, and the national flag is located on the back collar.

Mexico: It combines tradition and modern energy, with "SOMOSMÉXICO" ("We are Mexico") printed on the back collar, symbolizing national unity and passion.

Spain: It is based on red with yellow pinstripes, echoing the national flag elements, and "ESPAÑA" is printed on the back collar.
