Advisor to the Technical Committee of the Western Administrative Commission: It is true that I am a Real Madrid fan, but I will not touch VAR

July 23rd Shema-Alonso updated his podcast to defend his role as an advisor to the Technical Committee of the Spanish Council of the Institution (see the relevant news attached to this article for details).

Shema Alonso wrote: "I am a Real Madrid fan, but I watch at most ten or twelve games a year (I don't even subscribe to the football channel, just socially watch the game with my friends), and of course, I will be happy when Real Madrid wins."

"My task at the Spanish Referees Technical Committee is to help prepare technical meetings, attend committee meetings, that's all. The duties of VAR, the assignment of referees, the evaluation of referees, etc. are still under the responsibility of CTA and RFEF professionals, I am just happy to help them better understand technology. If VAR or referees make mistakes...you have to look for scapegoats elsewhere (don't blame me)."
