Bild: Bayern s defense is in crisis, Kompany only has five defenders available including Pablo

October 17th "Bild" reported that before this week's Bundesliga focus match with Dortmund, Bayern encountered a serious defensive crisis. Coach Kompany currently only has five healthy defenders available.

The team's biggest problem occurs at the full-back position. The latest casualty is left back Guerrero, who is still undergoing individual rehabilitation on Thursday due to a right thigh problem and is "extremely unlikely" to play against Dortmund. Another full-back Stanisic (partial tear of the medial ligament of his right knee) also failed to return to the team for training as planned and basically missed this game. Coupled with Alphonso Davies (torn cruciate ligament in right knee) and Hiroyuki Ito (metatarsal fracture) who are still recovering from long-term injuries, this means that Kompany currently has only Boe and Laimer, who can play as a guest, available at the full-back position.

At the center back position, Upamecano and Ta will continue to start, but it is still unknown whether Kim Min-jae, who has just returned from a long journey with the national team, can play.

However, the team also received some good news. Forwards Kane, Kim Min-jae, Luis Dias and Jackson have all returned from the national team and participated in team training. Kane's normal training, in particular, has given a boost to the team's offensive line. Nonetheless, whether this incomplete defense can withstand Dortmund's impact will be the biggest suspense of this game.
