Interview with Herrera: Be proud of Spanish youth training, players can always perform in big scenes

August 16th La Liga held an online media conference, and Athletic Bilbao legend Andel Herrera attended and was invited to participate in the media conference and interviewed Herrera.

Question: Last season, La Liga teams entered the semi-finals in the third-level European matches (UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Europa League). What do you think is the main reason why La Liga teams have achieved such success in the European arena?

Herrera: "Spanish football is always there, and Spanish football has so many excellent players and excellent qualities.

"We must also talk about youth training and must give them the recognition they deserve. These academies deliver players to the team every year, and the players adapt to the situation very quickly. They are ready to fight for great honors, which is exactly what I want to emphasize. I think Spanish players are well prepared when they land in La Liga or first team.

"This maturity comes from the outstanding work of the youth training system. It can be seen from the national teams at all levels that U21, U20, and U19 have always maintained competitiveness in the competition. This is what we should be proud of.

" Players produced by Spanish youth training can always perform in large-scale situations in terms of psychological quality, physical conditions and tactical qualities. This is exactly what I particularly appreciate about Spanish football and players. This is why the team can achieve great things. When youth training players are promoted and start playing for the team, they are already fully prepared. ”
