Jurman serves as head coach of Leverkusen

Xinhua News Agency, Berlin, September 8 (Reporter Zhao Jiantong) Bundesliga Leverkusen Football Club announced on the 8th that Danes Casper Yuermann will serve as the team's head coach.

53-year-old Yurman was the head coach of the Denmark national team. In 2021, he led Denmark to the semi-finals of the European Championship and lost to England at a slight disadvantage in overtime. In the 2024 European Championships, after Denmark lost to Germany 0:2, Jurmann, who had coached for four years, announced his resignation as head coach of the Denmark team. In the 2014-2015 season, he also coached the Bundesliga Mainz.

Leverkusen won the "double championship" in the Bundesliga and the German Cup in the 2023-2024 season. This summer, after the resignation of meritorious coach Alonso, Leverkusen Club hired former Manchester United and Ajax coach Ten Hager to coach the team, but Ten Hager only led the team to play in three official games and was dismissed.

On September 12th local time, in the third round of the 2025-2026 Bundesliga, Leverkusen will face Frankfurt at home, which will be Jurman's debut.
