La Liga TV revenue distribution: League champion won €57.84 million, bottom team €850,000

May 22nd News "Marca" recently calculated the TV broadcast revenue of each team based on its current La Liga ranking. 25% of the La Liga TV revenue distribution is determined based on the team's final La Liga ranking. Although the championship, UEFA Champions League qualification and quota for the Spanish Super Cup have been determined, the competition in the relegation zone is still fierce, with Espanyol and Leganes competing for relegation opportunities.

Another focus is the competition for the second seat of the UEFA Cup (the first one has been granted to Betis) and the UEFA Cup seat. Celta, Vallecano and Osasuna all have a chance, but one of the teams will miss these events.

Apart from these key rankings, each team strives for a higher ranking to earn more revenue. According to the Spanish Royal Act passed in 2015, 50% of La Liga TV revenue is distributed evenly to all teams, while the other 50% is divided into two parts: 25% is distributed based on social influence (including season tickets and ticket revenues for the past five seasons), and 25% is distributed based on the final La Liga ranking.

Taking the 2023-24 season as an example, La Liga TV broadcast revenue was 1.361 billion euros in this season, of which 25% or 340.25 million euros will be allocated as follows according to the final ranking of La Liga:

-17%: 57.84 million euros (Barcelona)

-15%: 51.03 million euros (Real Madrid)

-13%: 44.23 million euros (Atletico Madrid)

-11%: 37.42 million euros (Athletic Bilbao)

-9%: 30.62 million euros (Villareal)

-7%: 23.81 million euros (Betis)

-5%: 17.01 million euros (To be determined)

-3.5%: 11.91 million euros (To be determined)

-3%: 10.21 million euros (To be determined)

-2.75 %: 9.35 million euros (to be determined)

-2.5%: 8.5 million euros (to be determined)

-2.25%: 7.65 million euros (to be determined)

-2%: 6.8 million euros (to be determined)

-1.75%: 5.95 million euros (to be determined)

-1.5%: 5.1 million euros (to be determined)

-1.25%: 4.25 million euros (to be determined)

-1%: 3.4 million euros (to be determined)

-0.75%: 2.55 million euros (to be determined)

-0.5%: 1.7 million euros (Las Palmas)

-0.25%: 850,000 euros (Valladolid)

This income will be paid in batches over the next five seasons, with specific proportions: 35%, 20%, 15%, 15%. For example, Barcelona will receive 35% of its 57.84 million euros ranking next season, and will also receive 20% of its second-ranked revenue last season, and so on.
