Official: Australian U16 coach Maloney resigns
On June 12, Australian U16 coach Brad Maloney resigned. In July 2022, Maloney took over the Australian U17 team and led the team to the two Asian Youth Championships in 2023 and 2025, one ended in the quarter-finals and one failed to qualify in the group. In May this year, Maloni led the Australian U16 team to participate in the Hohhot Invitational, losing to the Chinese U16 team 2-5 in the last game after beating Vietnam and Saudi Arabia. Maloney said: "In the past three years, I really like to discover some excellent young people in Australia and work with them. I am very happy to see some players advance to the National Youth League, the National Olympic Team and the National Team in such a short time."
