Romano confirms: Manchester United s first signing this summer will be finalized, Wolves forward

According to multiple British media reports, Premier League giant Manchester United has reached an agreement with Wolves and will officially sign Brazilian striker Mattus Cunia. This also marks the official start of the Red Devils' signing work in the 2025 summer transfer window.

Authoritative journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal is about to be completed using the iconic "Here we go!" He pointed out: "Cunha will be Manchester United's first signing this summer." It is reported that the player had reached personal terms with the club a few days ago, and the transfer process has now entered the final stage.

According to reports, Manchester United will pay a transfer fee of up to £62.5 million for signing the 25-year-old striker, which is exactly the termination clause in Cunha's contract with Wolves. However, the Red Devils will pay the fee in installments. Both clubs are expected to complete all written formalities within this week.

Cunha will become an important attacker in Manchester United's new coach Ruben Amorin's tactical system. He performed well in Wolves. With his characteristics such as fast speed, delicate technology and strong position adaptability, he became one of the most threatening players on the team's offensive end.

In the early days of joining Wolves, Cunia mainly played the role of center, but then gradually transformed into a versatile player who can be competent for multiple positions in the frontcourt - he can organize attacks as an attacking midfielder and pull the edges, especially good at cutting in from the left and breaking into the penalty area through sudden acceleration.

In addition to Cunha, Manchester United also maintains interest in other forward goals, including Drapp and Portuguese sports forward Jekelais. However, since these two players are more inclined to join the team that participates in the Champions League next season and Manchester United does not qualify for the European Cup, they face competitive pressure from Arsenal and even Chelsea, which may return to the Champions League.

On the other hand, the future of another pair of tower-type strikers on Manchester United's forward, Hoylund and Zilkerze, is full of uncertainty. Currently, European football has little interest in these two people, only Juventus has expressed interest in Hoylund, while Zilkerze may return to the Serie A. Considering their market value declines, Manchester United may face a loss if they choose to sell.
