TA: Tottenham has made major adjustments to the medical department for the second consecutive summer, and two executives leave
July 8 TheAthletic reported that after experiencing the injury crisis last season, Tottenham made major adjustments to the medical department for the second consecutive summer, with core members Adam Brett and Nick Davis leaving the club. Brett was the club's performance services director, responsible for coordinating the sports science, medical, nutrition and psychology departments, while Davis served as the sports science director. It is reported that Davis has transferred to other clubs, and Tottenham will start the alternative recruitment process in time. Nick Stabbins has joined Tottenham as medical director from Brentford, and he is at least the fifth behind the team to follow the new coach Frank from West London. In the 2023-24 season where Frank's former Postkoglu coached, Tottenham Hotspur was plagued by injuries, and key players such as Van Devin, Romero, Udorgi, and Vicario were absent for a long time. Although he eventually defeated Manchester United to win the UEFA Cup and ended his 17-year championship drought, the 22-game defeat in the league caused Postkoglu to be dismissed. It is worth noting that Brett and Davis were appointed last summer, with the former replacing Jeff Scott, the director of medical and sports science who served for many years, and the latter was sacked in a reform led by then-Sooccer Scott Moon, who is currently in the transition period of his resignation. Brett began his career in rugby, and later joined Brighton as chief physiotherapist and was gradually promoted to director of medical and performance. He left Brighton in August 2023 and switched to Tottenham the following summer. Davis has previously played for West Ham United, West Brom and Wales teams. New member Tom Perryman, also from Brentford, will serve as physical coach. Tottenham Hotspur announced last month that Justin Cochran, Chris Haslam and Joe Newton will be the winner from the Bees with Frank.
