Mysterious disease, Celtic Porzingis openly talks about confusing injuries after being eliminated
The Celtics lost a crushing defeat against the Knicks in Game 6, and Christapus Porzingis was plagued by injuries throughout the game. On Friday night, the Boston Celtics lost to the New York Knicks with a staggering score of 119-81 to officially embark on their way home. The Celtics' path to defending their title was slapped even before entering the Western Conference Finals, and the past six-time champion teams have now encountered the same fate. The Celtics suffered many setbacks in this series, which led to such a big upset. The biggest cloud over the series was Jason Tatum's injury at the end of Game 4, which likely left him missing next season and the entire series. Before Tatum was injured, the Celtics were only a few minutes away from the series 1-3, but it completely lost their chances of turning the tables. Christaps Porzingis was also in poor form for most of this series as he struggled with a serious illness a few months ago. This allowed him to play only 12 minutes in Game 5 and only 11 minutes in Game 6. After losing, Porzingis revealed more about him through Jay King of The Athletic. "Christaps Porzingis said that no one really knew what he was doing at this time. They not only checked his heart, but also other diseases," King reported on X (original Twitter). "When asked if he had long-term concerns, he said he was not sure, but didn't think so. He thought that resting might be the best choice for him." Porzingis was not as good as usual when he was on the court, obviously plagued by various diseases. He didn't show his scoring ability as usual and was unable to finish a jumper at almost any position on the field, forcing Joe Mazura to choose another direction in the frontcourt. The Celtics were also troubled by poor offense in the late game. After they took a huge lead in the second half, they lost both the first and second games, which is an important reason why they finally chose to go home after being troubled by injuries.
