The alliance formally discusses military expansion! May accelerate James retirement process

In recent seasons, news about the expansion of the NBA from 30 teams to 32 teams has been circulating. However, a few years have passed and there has been no in-depth progress. After all, there are too many disputes of interest involved.

Just as the military expansion was calm, unexpected developments occurred today. Today, NBA President Adam Silver revealed in a program called "SiriusXM" that in July this year, the league management will formally meet with the bosses of 30 teams and discuss expanding the NBA to 30 teams. At the same time, Xiao Hua said that Seattle (the city where the Thunder was previously located) and casino Las Vegas have shown great interest in the NBA expansion. The last NBA expansion dates back to 2004, when Michael Jordan served as the small boss, the Charlotte Bobcats (now the Charlotte Hornets) became the 30th team in the NBA. Thanks to the addition of Bobcats, the NBA has been officially divided into 6 divisions, which is the current pattern. In terms of selecting players, the league allows the Bobcats to select the players they want from the remaining 29 teams (each team can set up 8 protected players) and give them a top three pick. Once the league officially expands to 32 teams, the current division and even the east-west model are likely to face reforms. And since it is a new team, the league is likely to let these two teams choose their favorite players from the other 30 teams just like they did to the Bobcats 20 years ago, which means that except for the main players of their respective teams, the rest of the role players are likely to experience a turbulent "deal". For the NBA, expanding the army is naturally a good thing. On the one hand, it can increase communication strength and influence; on the other hand, it can bring them more ticket revenue, advertising cooperation and off-site economic benefits.

It is worth mentioning that Lakers star LeBron James has publicly stated many times that he really wants to be the owner of an NBA team. However, according to NBA rules, active players cannot hold shares in any NBA team. In other words, once the NBA can complete military expansion within one or two years, then James is likely to speed up the retirement process and realize his wish to become a boss as soon as possible. After all, this can better pave the way in the NBA for his eldest son Brownie and his younger son Bryce (as soon as next year's draft).
