Stein: The King is not actively involved in the Monk deal negotiations now and has explored other ways to sign Westbrook

Stein wrote: "After exploring multiple trading options involving Monk earlier this summer, sources revealed that the King is not actively involved in such trade negotiations now.

"The source revealed that the King still maintains his interest in Westbrook, but I was told that the King did explore the possibility of freeing up a backcourt position by sending Monk away to sign Westbrook.

"Monk is said to have left a positive influence on the King, not only because of his performance on the field, but also because of his acceptance of his role, the Kings."
