The former Wizards backcourt star will represent the Warriors in the summer league. Does he have a chance to attack a two-way contract?

The Golden State Warriors officially announced the roster of players participating in the next NBA summer league, including Jules Bernard, a backcourt player who has played in the NBA field.

Bernard was born in January 2000 and is 25 years old, 198cm tall and weighs 95kg. He is the undraft in the 2022 NBA Draft. Bernard has represented the Detroit Pistons and the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League in the past few seasons, and he can also show certain characteristics in the NBA Summer League. He also received a two-way contract from the Wizards in December 2023. In the NBA, Bernard has made 19 appearances in the NBA regular season, averaging 7.9 minutes per game, averaging 3.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks, as well as 0.4 turnovers and 0.7 fouls, shooting percentage of 45.3%, three-point shooting percentage of 37.9%, and free throw shooting percentage of 55.6%. Bernard's playing time is very limited, so his performance is relatively average. Last summer, the Wizards did not renew their contract with Bernard. He had received a training camp contract with Exhibit 10 clauses given by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was eventually cut by the team.

Bernard played for the Cavaliers' NBA Development League team Cleveland Swordsman last season. He made a total of 29 appearances in the NBA Development League regular season, including 25 starts, averaging 31.8 minutes per game, averaging 19.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks, and 2.9 turnovers and 1.6 fouls. He shot 44.3% from the field, 29.6% from three-point shooting percentage and 81.8% from free throws. Bernard's performance in the NBA Development League last season still has some highlights. He showed good personal scoring ability and he also has some passing skills. However, Bernard's three-point shooting percentage is surprising, and his contribution to the defensive end is relatively limited, and these factors are also key points that restrict his development.

Bernard is also a highly mature player and is also capable of making breakthroughs in NBA Summer League. From the Warriors' perspective, signing Bernard to participate in the Summer League is also an ideal choice. If Bernard can perform in the summer league, he may also have a chance to strike a two-way contract, and he will also be able to get at least a training camp contract with Exhibit 10 and appear in the Warriors' NBA Development League team Santa Cruz Warriors next season. I don’t know what Bernard will perform in the next NBA summer league.
