Why choose number 2? Harper: This is my high school and college number

The Spurs' second-place Dylan Harper was interviewed by the media and talked about why he chose to wear the No. 2 jersey.

Harper said: "I chose the No. 2 jersey because it's the number I've been wearing for the past 4-5 years, and it represents me. My birthday was March 2, and I was selected with the second pick, and all of this brings together, which is perhaps the most important thing for me now. I wore No. 2 in college and throughout my high school years, so I think it has undoubtedly become a symbol of mine."

In the 2023-24 season, Harper wore this number and led Don Bosco Preparatory School to the New Jersey High School Athletic Association state finals. He continued to use the number last season at Rutgers and was awarded the Associated Press All-American Three Team honors for his outstanding performance. He also became the first player to wear the Spurs No. 2 jersey after Leonard.
