Spanish media: Yamal has become the main target of racial discrimination, and 60% of the online violence is directed at the Spanish star

The 18-year-old Barcelona genius player Lamine Yamar has recently been under unprecedented pressure from online violence, and most of the attacks are obviously racially charged.

According to Spanish newspaper El Pais, citing a worrying report issued by the Spanish Observatory of Racial Discrimination, it was pointed out that up to 60% of all racist remarks against football players on Spanish social media were directed at Yamal. This ratio is even twice that of Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.

The most serious wave of cyber attacks occurred around the time of the Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Paris. At that time, the young talent was subjected to a lot of abuse with racial insults, and was even maliciously called an "illegal immigrant" - even though he was born and raised in Spain and has fully legal Spanish citizenship.

These attacks are not isolated incidents, but part of a long-standing systemic discrimination rooted in his skin color, Moroccan background, and African ancestry. Even though Yamal has become a core player of the Spanish national team and has represented the country in many competitions, he still cannot avoid being maliciously slandered because of his ethnic identity.

In addition to his brilliant performances on the field, Yamal has also been frequently involved in off-field troubles recently: the media has paid excessive attention to his love life with his older girlfriend Nikki Nicol; he has caused controversy for publicly criticizing Real Madrid; and recently, there are rumors that he has a groin injury that is difficult to heal and may affect his career - although these claims have not been officially confirmed.

As a rising star in Spanish football, Yamal should have enjoyed the glory in the spotlight, but he had to navigate the storm of public opinion and racial prejudice. His experience once again sounded the alarm: even in European football in the 21st century, the problem of deep-rooted racial discrimination is still serious.
