NBA offseason beads: Westbrook and Horford lead the top ten free agents, who can get the contract?
The pace of the NBA offseason has slowed down significantly, but this does not mean that all stories have ended. There are still several things worth paying attention to: the four restricted free agents have not yet finalized their destination (Jonathan Cumingga is still seeking a contract with an annual salary of about $30 million, and Josh Gidey, Cameron Thomas, and Quentin Grimes have not yet settled); in addition, veterans such as Luca Doncic (expected to renew the contract without any suspense), Kevin Durant, Trae Young, and De Alon Fox may also sign contract renewals. There are still some teams with rosters vacant, and the following are the top ten free agents who have not signed yet - but judging from the current situation, they are likely to be able to sign veterans' basic salary or the remaining small special contracts for the team. 1. Al Horford is expected to sign the Warriors. The fact that the writing has not been completed may be due to Kumingga's restricted free agent problem - the Warriors will not promote other signings until the matter is resolved. 37-year-old Horford is a high-IQ offensive and defensive all-round player, adapted to Steve Cole's system: he can score inside and hit a three-pointer in the bottom corner, and still maintains his level on the defensive end. Although playing time needs to be controlled, his contribution (and the reliability of the playoffs) in a limited time is worth the investment. 2. Russell Westbrook No team is willing to take over Westbrook's "roller coaster performance". Last season, he averaged 13.3 points and 6.1 assists to the Nuggets, and cooperated with Nikola Jokic, but behind the data was the ups and downs: when in good condition, he was full of energy and could change the situation by relying on explosive performance; when in poor condition, he would make confusing decisions and ruin the game. After Westbrook gave up the $3.5 million player option, the Nuggets did not choose to renew their contract, which may be a signal for other championship teams. He is currently in close contact with the King of Sacramento.
3. Chris Boucher's unemployment was surprising, after all, he is a hot-for-selling type in the league: a reliable rotational space four-position, averaging 10 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season for the Raptors, and a three-point shooting percentage of 36.3% (averages of nearly 4 shots per game). He can seamlessly integrate into multiple lineups, and no matter which team he signs, he may surprise fans who are not familiar with him.
4. Amir Kofi
The 28-year-old wing was a key rotation last season when he beat the Clippers 50, averaging 9.7 points and a 40.9% three-point shooting percentage, especially at catching and shooting. Although Tyron Lou was excluded from the rotation in the playoffs, Coffey is a good choice for teams that require wing depth.
5. Gary Payton II, who is good at holding the ball and pressing defense and can shoot three-pointers (34% career shooting percentage), is a bit surprising. Last season, he averaged 6.5 points per game for the Warriors, and it is not impossible to return to Golden State. At the same time, the Lakers, Heat, Bucks and Suns also have interest in him.
6. Malcolm Brogden's best sixth man two years ago, has only played 63 games due to injury due to injury, and his value has declined. But in his health, he is still a reliable defender rotation, averaging 12.7 points and 4.1 assists per game when he was healthy last season, which is worth the team's risky attempt.
7. Seth Curry
Every team needs a shooter, and Curry shot up to 45.6% of the three-point shooting percentage in the Hornets last season. If he serves as a substitute on the right team, he can improve the back line firepower. There are reports that he may join the Warriors where his brother is, but like Horford, signing a contract requires waiting for Kumingga's problem to be solved.
8.Trey Lyles
is similar to Boucher type and is the space-type fourth/foot fifth position required by many teams, and can serve as a substitute. Last season, he averaged 6.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game with the Kings. He worked with Mike Brown (or foreshadowed by signing). He is likely to be signed by a certain team before the start of the season.
9. Ben Simmons
No matter which team signs Simmons, it may arouse dissatisfaction among fans, but when he was healthy last season, he proved in the Clippers that he could serve as a substitute rotation in the regular season.
Average 2.9 points and 3.8 assists per game last season (16 minutes of appearance). As a substitute, the forwards still have an advantage in the defensive end (he played a heavier role during the Nets' reconstruction period). He won't shoot three points (or even jump shots outside the penalty area), and has limited playoff roles, but in limited regular season roles, it may help the right team.
10. Monte Morris
The veteran's three-point shooting percentage in health career after rotation was 38.9% (36% last season), and his performance in the Suns last season was fluctuating and failed to integrate into the system. At 30, he is less capable of scoring than five years ago, but he can still help teams that need depth to defend.
