Turner: I was called by Stevens when I was at my lowest point. That was the first time I saw a ray of light.

Hupu November 21 News Former NBA player Evan Turner recently appeared on a guest show and recalled when he played for Brad Stevens in the Celtics.

"I'll always remember, he (Stevens) came to see me and convinced me to join his team. I was dealing with so much negative comments about my style of play and I was very depressed. So when he came, it was really like I saw a light for the first time. You know what I mean? People can be arrogant in certain situations, but sometimes, you can't take acceptance and appreciation for granted, and Brad (Stevens) gave me a chance in a really dark time, and that meant a lot." Turner said.

"When I was playing under him, I made a mistake once and was taken off the field. I was very frustrated at the time and said something bad to him. But he was very calm. After about 35 seconds, he came over and said to me, 'Don't talk to me like that again in the future, be professional, get up and continue playing, and guard against them.'" Turner said.

"This is respect, I think Brad understands it, and I understand it too. That was a very important moment in communicating with the coach, and I am especially grateful to him. I am grateful that he did not yell or target me. He just continued to help me." Turner said.
