The Sun: Sudan Football Association President s Cup ban for 15 games for attacking match officials after losing
On October 10, the "Sun" reported that Sudan Football Association Chairman Yasser Nasreddin Hamza Al-Samani was suspended for 15 games for attacking a match official. The incident occurred in the World Cup qualifying match between Togo and Sudan last month. Sudan lost 0-1, which almost ended their hopes of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. At the end of the match, Al-Samani became enraged and attacked a match official, which also involved assistant coach Ignatius Osei Fosu. As a result, both men were punished by FIFA and banned. Al-Samani was suspended for 15 games for this incident. At the same time, FIFA announced that Osei Fosu was suspended for three games for unsporting behavior towards match officials. The two were also fined approximately 4,500 pounds.
