Brazilian Football Association sets a deadline for Ancelotti: a decision must be made before the end of May

Brazil Football Association (CBF) agreed to wait until the end of May, when the title of the La Liga champion was settled before deciding whether to hire head coach Ancelotti.

According to ESPN, although the Brazilian Football Association is very angry that Ancelotti and Real Madrid canceled the agreement at the last minute, they are still willing to wait for the Italian tactic master for a few more weeks. Ancelotti has always been the number one candidate for the Brazilian national team's head coach.

Last week, the Brazilian Football Association thought it had reached an agreement with Ancelotti, but the negotiations eventually broke down. The main reason is that Real Madrid does not want to break up with the Italian coach early, and the Brazilian Football Association hopes to announce Ancelotti in May.

For this reason, the Brazilian Football Association has set a deadline for Ancelotti and is willing to wait until the 2024/25 La Liga championship competition is settled before making a decision. Currently, Real Madrid is 4 points behind the leader Barcelona with five rounds left in the league. If Real Madrid returns empty-handed in La Liga this season, Ancelotti is likely to leave the team's head coach position by May.

If Real Madrid wins the La Liga title, Ancelotti may continue to lead the team to the Club World Cup in June. Ancelotti's contract with Real Madrid expires in June 2026. If the coach is fired early, Real Madrid will need to pay compensation for the remaining contract.

The Spanish club hopes that the Brazilian Football Association will pay the termination fee of Ancelotti's contract if they want to sign the Italian coach this month. However, the Brazilian Football Association is not willing to spend too much money.

Although Ancelotti is the first choice, the Brazilian Football Association is considering other options, such as Riyadh Crescent coach Jorge Jesus and Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira. If Ancelotti cannot determine the future by the end of May, the Brazilian Football Association will terminate all negotiations with the Italian coach.
